Calories In Food

Calories In Food

Some people eat a lot of calories every day and don’t
even realize how many calories are in food. I had an
Aunt that got up to about 250 or 280, and I would see
her eating high calorie snacks and chips as she watched
television. She would gather several bags up around her
and turn the TV on.

If you are going to lose weight, you need to eat
mindfully, being aware of calories in food.

I suggest that you get your snack out if you have one,
and only get one handful, or half cup serving. Put it
in a bowl and eat it slowly, with your mind on it,
really enjoying it and realizing what you are doing.

Don’t do it mindlessly watching a television show and
paying no attention to what you are eating.

Many people do this, and don’t think they eat more than
anyone else does. You can consume a lot more calories in
food
than you think if you are eating junk food and snack
food.

You could keep a diary of all food intake. Start there
and for some it will be an eye opener. I mean if you have
a 10 oz. bag of chips and it is gone in one day... You
ate 10 servings of chips for the day! Your body cannot
help but turn all this excess carbohydrates into fat.

Focus more on vegetables and some fruit each day for snacks.
This is conducive to good health as these have a vitamins
and minerals in them that the body recognizes and uses. They
are higher in water and give your body fiber, all needed
for good health.

You don’t have to rush weight loss. You only need to reduce
your calorie intake by 100 calories per day to make a
substantial effect on your weight over the period of the
year. Learn to use and like your vegetables, get plenty
of water and some exercise.
